Post-Symposium CAR-ES Workshop

Program can be found here.

Second CAR-ES (http://www.nordicforestresearch.org/car-es/) workshop on soil functional diversity will be arranged back-to-back with the Woody Root 7 Symposium

The Centre of Advanced Research on Environmental Services from Nordic Forest Ecosystems (CAR-ES III, funded by SNS 2016-2020) will have an open workshop and network meeting Understanding Forest Management for Enhanced Environmental Services: Soil carbon dynamics and functional biodiversity on June 30th, 2017

The meeting aims at getting an overview of previous and ongoing studies on soil functional biodiversity and relationships with soil carbon accumulation and loss in forests of the Nordic - Baltic region,  - in general as well as in relation to various forest management practices. Summary presentations on purpose, key approaches and main findings are welcome.

Based on this overview, we aim at submitting an application to SNS to review the current status of knowledge on soil C in relation to functional biodiversity and forest management in the Nordic - Baltic region.

Researchers working with soil carbon, soil microbial biodiversity and soil fauna in Nordic-Baltic forest ecosystem are warmly welcome to stay one more day in Tartu.

Please contact Research Prof. O. Janne Kjønaas and Dr. Ivika Ostonen if you wish to be added on a mailing list for further information.
